However, certain functions/options may not work or appear correctly in an older client if you upgrade all the mail templates.
I am always in favor of updating mail templates but some people like to stay in synch. R6 obviously was not prepared for the ODS 51 change and so best to test, test, test.
Especially things like Out of Office and calendar/scheduling items.
Client upgrade is still difficult for many even with smartupgrade, emailing it and pushing it down via Windows or some other LAN tools.
Also see technote #1102152 for more info:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=203&context=SW000&dc=DA410&dc=DA450&dc=DA430&dc=DA440&dc=D600&dc=D700&dc=DB510&dc=DB520&dc=D800&dc=D900&dc=DA900&dc=DA800&dc=DB540&dc=DB400&dc=DB560&dc=DB530&dc=DA600&dc=DB550&dc=D100&dc=DA420&dc=DA460&dc=DB300&dc=DA470&dc=DA480&dc=DB100&dc=DA4A10&dc=DA4A20&dc=DA700&dc=DA4A30&dc=DA400&dc=DA100&dc=DA500&dc=D200&dc=DB700&dc=DB600&q1=lotus+ods+client&uid=swg21102152&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=allKeith Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11107190540208956954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8994561579739999989.post-22035380193114219922009-01-09T05:07:00.000+02:002009-01-09T05:07:00.000+02:00What happens if your mail clients are all 6.5?Is t...What happens if your mail clients are all 6.5?

Is there any problem to upgrade the ODS structure and access the mailbox with the 6.5.x client?

What features are available to 6.5.x clients using a 6.5.x mail template on a R8.5 server?

I would love to upgrade servers now, but no chance to do the clients for a while if at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
